Thank you for your interest in consumer protection.

The purpose of this web site is to provide information to attorneys interested in taking on cases in various cities and states.

Attorneys represent clients after they receive a Forensic Truth-in-Lending Audit exposing material violations of the Federal Truth-in-Lending Act and other statutory laws such as RESPA and HOEPA within their mortgage. These laws allow attorneys to effectively turn the legal tables on predatory lenders. We are not necessarily attempting to create new case law.   Most cases are settled out of court or before trial.

As you may know, the Truth-in-Lending Act has a provision stating that the lender pays attorney fees if violations are exposed. Attorneys are paid through a hybrid contingency or their hourly rate in conjunction with the court’s standard loadstar calculations; whichever is higher. When the contingency route is taken, the hourly attorney fees paid by the lender revert back to the client. Attorneys can make upwards of $90,000 for cases that go to trial.  Cases that settle before trial have earned attorneys between $5,000 and $22,000.  Since violations are facial within mortgage documents, depositions are very rare.
